About Steve Wakulsky
Steve Wakulsky is a highly accomplished and experienced golf instructor with nearly 15 years as a Class A PGA professional. His career has been marked by a wide range of prestigious roles and international experience. He currently serves as the Head Teaching Professional at Moose Ridge Golf Club, after spending 17 years as the Head Professional at Owosso Country Club.
Before moving back to Michigan with his family, Steve spent 17 years working for the renowned David Leadbetter Golf Academies. His connection with Leadbetter began in 1989, and he worked internationally, including in Thailand and Japan from 1993 to 1999, where he served as the Director of the Leadbetter Academies in Asia. He later returned to Florida and became the Worldwide Director of Training and Certification for Leadbetter Academies until 2007. In this role, he was responsible for helping to improve the teaching skills of hundreds of golf instructors, in addition to his own extensive teaching portfolio.
Steve’s teaching career includes working with high-profile clients, including professional golfers like Nick Faldo, Nick Price, and David Frost. His celebrity students have included Ray Romano, Sylvester Stallone, Lou Holtz, and NFL Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow. He also taught author Carl Hiaasen and is featured in his book The Downhill Lie.
Steve’s contributions to golf instruction have earned him recognition, including being ranked the 17th best instructor in Florida for 2005-2006 by Golf Digest magazine. He has also appeared on the Golf Channel and contributed hundreds of articles to golf publications worldwide. His diverse experience, combined with a deep understanding of the game, has made him one of the most respected figures in the golf instruction community.
